dc.description.abstract | Cooperatives have been recognised as effective instruments for socioeconomic transformation. In view o f this potential in all economic reconstruction programmes, thrust has been towards development of cooperatives. Further, cooperatives constitute people's programmes and envisages people to stand up by themselves and help each other on the principle of equality. In view of these characteristics, there cannot be a better system seeking involvement of the people and harnessing their unified efforts for their economic development than the cooperatives. Thus, so long as the menace of poverty exists and exploitation of masses continues, the relevance of cooperatives would be felt more and more. People shall also look forward to an enhanced and effective role for the cooperatives. | en_US |
