Report of the Conference on International Cooperative Trade in South- East Asia- Japan 1968

Abstract

A Conference on International Cooperative Trade in South-East Asia, was organised in Tokyo during June 1968 by the International Cooperative Alliance Regional Office and Education Centre for South-East Asia in collaboration with the Central Union of Agricultural Cooperatives in Japan. The Conference was intended, to bring together representatives of cooperative trading organisations in South-East -Asia and to provide- them with an' opportunity to*discuss their own experiences, and to explore new opportunities for trade contacts. It was also intended to give the delegates an 'opportunity to study the trade operations and methods of the Japanese Cooperative Movement. Accordingly, a five-day study visit to cooperatives in the Tochigi Prefecture was organised.
