Abstract

The International Co-operative Alliance is pleased to present the following guide to “Doing Business with the Co-opcratives of Costa Rica.” For many years, the Costa Rican co-operative movement has played a fundamental role in the social and economic development of the country. Its great level of integration, presence in virtually all economic sectors, goals, and important role in development has made the co-operative sector one of the most diverse and dynamic of the country. However, its great potential is not always recognized internally, and generally has has not been presented abroad as an important source of investment opportunities, co-operation and strategic alliances.
