dc.description.abstract	The Two Sub-Regional Workshop on Gender Integration in Co-operatives were organized in accordance with the “Statement and Call for action” of the Regional Conference on Gender Planning in Co-operatives in Tokyo, Japan, in March, 1993. After the Conference, the Japanese Consumer Co-operative Union agreed to finance the Gender Integration Project for three years and the ICA ROAP established an independent department for Gender Integration in 1993 and set up a three-year plan for the project. One of the main programmes in the three-year plan was to develop training materials for Gender Sensitivity and Planning and to conduct international seminars for national co-operative leaders.	en_US
