Abstract: | The rapid growth of population and the resource constraints have posed a challenging task for the Asian Nations in providing housing to their masses. Most of these countries have recognized the cooperative housing as an effective instrument in tackling their housing problems of their multi-ethnic population. Cooperative Housing has also been recognized for their role in national development and national integration. It has excellent record not only in building construction but also in maintenance and in providing infrastructural facilities through cooperation and mutual understanding. Though the activities of housing cooperatives have been well developed in many Asian countries their experiences have not been adequately documented. |
