Study on Youth Participation in Philippine Community-Based Cooperatives

Abstract

The International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) has always been strong in mobilizing colleges and universities to develop co-operatives supported by the Japanese Consumers Co-op Union (JCCU). However, the Alliance found out that there is no such consolidation in community-baaed youth co-operatives. Whatever youth co-ops we have in a few countries are not that stpng either. Therefore, ICA hopes to conduct a comprehensive study on youth participation in co-ops in a few selected countries. This study which will result in a regional overview, will provide the directions for a long term development programme This was the backgrounder jprovided by W.U.
