dc.description.abstractThe Malaysia context of rural development, the emphasis is to increase production and productivity of agriculture and livestock and subsequently raise the farm incomes, and this has to be done without structural reform. The government has endorsed its earnest commitment to accelerate the growth of this sector through the formulation of the National Agricultural Policy (NAP). The NAP has been designed to ensure a balance and sustained rate of growth in the agricultural sector vis-a-vis the other sector of the economy due to its indisputable importance to the national welfare and economy as a wh o l a The NAP with objective of maximising income from agriculture through efficient utilisation of the country's plentiful resources and the revitalisation of the sector's contribution to the overall economic development of the country.en_US
