dc.description.abstractThis conference was unique in two respects. In the first instance it came at the beginning of the Second Development Decade as declared by the United Nations. it can be identified as one of the bench marks when things were said and declarations made by cooperative education leaders in respect to co-operative development and functional literacy.The second unique feature was its design, which included formal presentations and discussions from the plenary sessions, together with daily workshops, during which the total assembly, (both keynote speakers and conference participants), joined as co-workers and addressed themselves to the topics which had been designated. The deliberations of these working groups were fed back into the conference each day, and became an important input.en_US
